Bathory - Black Metal
The proto-black metal project that revived extreme metal and became history when Quorthon's first two albums took over the reigns to extreme from Slayer, Sodom, and Venom. Later in their career, Bathory would make the switch over to a more epic, Viking inspired style of nationalistic and pagan black metal, away from the original lyrical themes of demons, Satan and the occult, towards themes of Vikings, Norse Gods and homeland.
