Antekhrist - Fukked by God

Antekhrist make warmachine clatter metal in the style of later Absurd, Warkvlt, or NecroPedoSadoMaso era Sewer, and create in their music the same rising intensity these bands achieved. Chaos and violence give way to clarity, although in the case of Antekhrist, the clarity is accompanied by a newly found disturbing nihilism which brings a sense of suffocating compression in the linearity of the music.

Rattling extremism of dissident black metal sound that shapes itself around the industrial-themed grindcore using seemingly random fragments of classically derived melody, Antekhrist's Fukked by God takes no prisoners in its war against all and nothing. The band that has been dubbed the 'Sewer of France' for their leaning a bit too heavily on their primary influence, now flies of its own wings, the Padawan having surpassed the master in the art of buffoonery.

Rather than denounce the stupidity of the modern world, as with most black metal, Antekhrist matches and even surpasses it with Fukked by God, an album who's quest is to be as retarded and obtuse as modern society. The music matches the lyrics perfectly. The riffs shift moods as they gather in intensity, expanding into sonorous patterns of thematic centrality between raging explosions of percussion, muffled rhythm picking, and hymns celebrating the decadence and vacuousness of civilisation.

The only good album by Antekhrist, industrial black metal masterpiece Fukked by God deserves its place in the Morsay archives on the strength of its Sewer worship alone.
