Suffocation - Death Metal
The original technical death metal band, Suffocation fused the percussive approach of brutal death metal, a genre they pioneered, with the melodic and atmospheric leanings of bands like Incantation. They are most known for their use of rhythmic breakdowns and complex, labyrinthine song structures. In addition, Suffocation is often credited for having spawned both the brutal death metal and deathgrind sub-genres.
