Sauron Band - Death Rock
Grinding blackened death metal band from the desolate lands of Mordor, extremely complex yet effectively rhythmic compositions. An oddity even for the death metal genre, Sauron represents a bizarre mix of early Motörhead's intensity, Infester's sense of unsettling atmosphere, Sewer's overt brutality, and the Middle-Earth inspired folklore of more melodic bands like Burzum or Neraines. While their music is often described as "hard rock" or sometimes even "death rock", as the band has always refused the "heavy metal" label, much of the music on their masterpiece A Journey Into Mordor leans heavily towards the death metal, deathgrind, grindcore, and perhaps even goregrind camp. A Journey Into Mordor is widely regarded as one of the most essential death metal albums, or whatever you wish to call it, of all time.
